Has anyone used these before?
http://www.hisandher.com/store/shop_product.asp?main=MAIN_006&sub=SUB_001&pro=8

I believe Amanda said she had used the drawing mats from:
http://www.additionallengths.co.uk/default.asp
and that they're quite popular in England.

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on using them or any opinions as to which size (from hisandher) would be best for home use.

Thanks!:)

Here is a link to a wig making tutorial, go down to step 9 I believe and it shows how to use the hackle. The drawing mats hold the bulk hair so you can "draw" small amounts of it at a time, like for tipping your own.

thanks! I get how to use the drawing mats, but still a bit confused about the hackle! Am I daft? Can anyone explain any better how the hackle is used? Is the hackle what you use to blend colors?

Yes the hackle is used for combing and for blending colors.

I might get the drawing mats, but I don't have highlights, so the hackle would probably be unnecessary for me.

I do think it would be a good investment for anyone who has highlights or is doing extensions professionally, though.
