1 to 2 inch rollers set into dry hair. Apply a fair amount, but no too much styling gel and set the rollers. Sit with blow dryer on low for about 1/2 hour. If all you have is a hand dryer, then sit in front of the TV and move it around your head.

make sure you set the rollers with a center part and facing froward the way Jessica's curls go.

When you take them out, they will be a bit springy. separate with fingers and spray. They will calm a bit in the first 1/2 hour.

I find that if I do the curls with a curling iron, they wilt after about an hour.

good luck!

I don't know what type of hair you have (thick, medium, fine) but I think that this is a style that a lot of people can achieve. Since I don't know your hair's thickness, length, or condition, I don't know if I can really give you any advice. You should try a website like http://www.matrix.com/find_your_hair_style/

Here they show a variety of hair styles and the Matrix line of products to use to achieve those styles and they give a little set of instructions to tell you how to style your hair. You could also try the Pantene website to get tips on achieving curls. The wavy/curly style pictured on Jessica Simpson that you provided via your link is definitely one I think you should be able to obtain. If you had shown tight ringlets I would have said that not very many people could achieve that look, but loose curls are much easier to get. I would recommend using products for wavy/curly hair or ones that promise to activate curls when you style your hair. Then I would get a 1 or 1/2 inch barrel curling iron (I've read that alternationg between the two can create a very pretty and natural look) and style small sections of my hair at a time being careful not to touch the hair because it has to cool and set in position. Then, when I was done and my hair was cool I would spritz on some hairspray all over (I'd opt for a quality hairspray that promises a soft hold) to set the curls and then you should be able to pull back some hair into a clip like the picture shows. If you have fine hair this might be difficult and the curl might just fall out. Also try Curl Friends at: http://www.curlfriends.com/?src=overture for products that will help you achieve nice curls. If none of this helps, I suggest you ask a qualified hair stylist whom you trust.
