All this storys bring back the remembering of a day, 10 years ago, as i "earn my money" with babysitting of the children in neightborhood. One evening, I learned much for a test at next day in shool and didnt sleep much, I was by a little, nerving girl, wich didnt give a second silence ... we played a million games and at one point, she want to "play barber" well, she brush my hair, and brush, and brush, do here a braid and there a tail brush again, and abou all of this, i sleep in.As i wake up half an hour later, as the parents come back, I found me in a mess of hair. The girl hacked down most of my shoulderlenght hair down near to my head with her safetyshear. Bald spots and long tresses are spreaded all over my head. I cryed loud out and need nearly an hour to snob down. The parents drove me to the next sallon, but there, after a short diskussion, what they can do, the lady buzz the rest of my hair nearly to stubble - and, after the father and the mother take a diskussion out of the shop, she give the little girl the same cut for punishment (what I never understand, and I think, the girl too)I run around 3 month just with a head - and never sleep in again until a job ;)Nancy

I also have a babysitting story to relate. It was more years ago than I wish to discuss - At the time I had arrow straight mid back length (drop dead gorgeous blond) hair and I planned to grow it forever. Many people told me it was my best feature.I was sitting for friends of friends. They had two wired little girls that were 8 and 6 years old. They were squabbling and fighting all night long. I couldn't seem to divert them or calm them down - then they suggested that we play beauty parlor. By then I'd try anything. Sounded like it might keep them occupied. I agreed and then they said I'd be the customer. They combed and brushed to their hearts content. Then they wanted to put my hair in rollers and give me a 'pretend' perm. With my hair in rollers they applied what I thought was water as part of my 'perm job'. They insisted I let it 'set' for the evening. With hair up, they finished out the evening as little angels - occasionally checking their handywork. They were off to sleep after a couple hours so I went to the bathroom to take my hair down.It turns out the little brats had applied glue to the rollers. My hair was secured fast. I tried soap, solvents and just plain tugging but it was to no avail. The parents came home and were very appologetic and offered to help. All we could do in the end was to cut it all off. I looked like a fuzz ball with about 1/2 inch long hair almost all over. I just cried and cried. The parents bought me a wig to wear and made the kids come and appologize. They offered to let me cut their hair in a similar manner as a lesson but I declined. They also paid for my next two hair cuts out of their allowance. It sure ruined my prom but in the end I learned that some people only liked me for my appearance. There are others that looks didn't really matter. I learned who my true friends were - My boyfriend at the time dumped me - but I found someone even better. Someone that didn't care what my hair was like but liked me for who I am - we are still married after many years (coming up on 25.I never let my guard down again while sitting.Missy

Missy,Sounds like you handled it well and I'm glad you can look at a very traumatic situation and say you learned from it. I think I would have cut the little brats hair off.Tom

I HAD MY NEPHEW SPEND THE NIGHT,AND IT WAS WERID CUZ ALL OF A SUDDEN I JERKED AWAKE OUT OF A DEAD SLEEP.HE WAS STANDING ABOVE ME WITH SCISSORS IN HIS HAND AND I SHOUTED,"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
I DIDNT THINK HE CUT ANYTHING,BUT A FEW DAYS LATER I FOUND THIS REALLY SHORT PIECE STICKING UP IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD LIKE DENNIS THE MENACE!!!
IT TOOK MONTHS OF HAIRSPRAYING IT DOWN FLAT BEFORE IT WOULD FINALLY LAY DOWN. I WAS FURIOUS! EXSPECIALLY WHEN A WEEK BEFORE HIS MOM YELLED AT HIM FOR CUTTING HIS OWN HAIR!
I HAVE SINCE CUT IT SHORTER UNTIL IT GROWS OUT WITH THE REST OF MY HAIR...

OMG! I don't know what I would do if something like that ever happened to me. Fortunately my little nieces know that auntie's hair is pretty to look at, but NO TOUCHING! lol. I won't even let them come my hair. So playing beauty parlor is out of the question. And I agree with Tom, I would have cut the little bratt's hair LOL.
