Wanted a different way for banges to be cut.

I was wanting a change in my banges. So I went to a hair dresser who suggested to have all the top cut all away around. So I did and did it turn out to be a big mess. I have long hair almost to my wast, but like to keep my banges cut short, some way that I don't have to worry with. I really would like advice on how to redo my hair cut.
