Hey Ladies,

I thought it would be fun to list our top three (or more) holy grails.....products we love and can't live without......and three products we hated and did not work for us at all.

Love

Creme of Nature shampoo- this shampoo detangles my hair better than any shampoo and it feels like I don't need any conditioner afterwards.

Lekair Cholesterol Plus- I do my deep treatments with this.  It makes my hair feel stronger.

Shea Butter- I am sold on unrefined shea butter.  It has so many benefits for our hair and skin, I love it for both.

Fantasia IC Gel- I love this gel!  It makes my hair shine, shine, shine.

Soft Sheen Care Free Curl- My hair feels softer than anything i've used when I use this. I just spray a little on and comb through and wow, I can't stop touching my hair.

Oyin's Whipped Pudding- this is the moisturizer I'm using right now and I'm lovin' it.  I does not weigh my hair down and it is all natural.

Hated

Shampoo Bars- they made my hair feel squeaky and stripped....just yucky.  I might experiment around in hopes of finding one that my hair likes.

VO5 shampoo- dry stripped hair.

Most curl activators (except Soft Sheen's Carefree Curl)- make my hair feel greasy and weighted down.

Cantu shampoo- I was so disappointed with this one.  I used it once and threw it out.  I thought it would be good since the creme moisturizer worked so well for me.

Okay, your turn...............

Love

NTM/Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich poo/cond - Leaves my hair incredibly moist and soft.

Queen Helene/LeKair Chol. - Use both for deep conditioners.

EVOO - Use for pre-poo hot oil treatments & adding to my cond.

Aphogee ProVitamin Leave-In - I use this for my rollersets. Gives me incredible BODY, bounce & texture. Seals in moist. & I get no frizz w/ this.

Clairol Vitapointe hairdress - Yeah, Old skool  - This stuff gives AWESOME shine/sheen. I use this only on my ends w/ my rollerset and my hair is super shiny w/o being greasy. (yes it has mineral oil, but I love it)

Hate

Infusium 23 - Uggh.. this stuff leaves my hair hard & dry (even diluting didn't help)

Parnevu line - Tried some while back and didn't like at all.

LOVE

Silk Elements Mega Cholesteral Deep Conditioner> can't live without

Natural 100% Shea Butter> for my hair as well as my skin

Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in Conditioning Repair Cream> new to me, but I am falling in love with it. good on all types of hair not just damage hair.

Elasta QP Mango Butter> new to me but I love it to dealth as well.

Kemi Oyl> been using this forever LOL

ORS Olive Oil Moisturizing Lotion> I use it when needed but not a lot though

CON Detangling shampoo in the red bottle> some good stuff

Parnevu Leave-In T-Tree and Scalp Therapy> love this stuff, helps with dandruff, relieves iches and stimulate my scalp

Sulfur 8> same as Parnevu

Dislike

Pantene Daily Oil Cream> it did nothing for me nor for my head..it dryed out

Optimum Oil Therepy Hair and Scalp Quencher> same as the pantene, it dried my hair or shall I say my hair was dry quicker than normal...so I use it sometimes mixed with other stuff since I did pay a penny for it

Theres not a lot of products I dislike because I try to use certain ones and I know or have an idea on what my hair can take and can not take LOL

Elucence Moisture Balance Shampoo & Conditioner

Curls - Asian Hair Tea Condish & Curly Q's Coconut Dream Condish

Oils - L'Occitane Olive Hair Care Oil & Carol's Daughter Khoret Amen & Hollywood Carrot Oil

Hairdress - Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter or Jane Carter Solution Nourish & Shine

For extra strength / Shine - Nexuss Emergencee, Sebastian Cellophane (Clear or Honey Wheat)

For neutralizing & protecting hair when swimming - Porosity Control Conditioner

For my son - Baby Don't Cry Shampoo and Curly Q Coconut conditioner, JCS Nourish & Shine

Hate a lot of products.  Most recently:

Qhemet - not sure why but find these extremely drying on my hair.  May be the flaxseed.

Fredeic Fekkai Protein RX Conditioner - did nothing for my hair.  Liked the shampoo & mask though.  Too expensive and results good but not worth expence over long run.

Most drugstore condish have not worked well for me in the past.  It's been a while though since I have tried Suave, Vo5 or any of those.  I am skeptical though.  Also do not love cholesterol condish as it leaves my hair feeling coated.

Breakthru shampoo - my head burned when I last used this (almost like when burning during a relaxer).  Never again.

Nice thread!

Okay my Top products :
Unrefined shea butter- its just the best I use it in my pre-poo and my homemade hair butter.
Parnevu T-tree oil- I love this oil I use it on my scalp 2 times a week.
Isoplus Light or regular oil sheen- Leaves my hair looking shiny and soft.
Bumble and Bumble Deeep Protein Treatment and conditioner- it smells soooo good and leaves my hair feeling stronger and feeling soo soft.
Motions shampoo- although I am currently using Bumble's shampoo I love the slip Motions gave me and plan on alternating between Bumble and Motions shampoo.
All organic moisturizing essential oils
Infusium 23 Orig. leave in conditioner- I do not use this daily because it sprays too wet. But I do use it once a week when I wash my hair. I use it to wrap my hair.

Products I hate
Anything Pantene- I hate them. Their products coat your hair, are not moisturizing, and cause breakage!
Optimum hair oil- their oil sheens, and grease just coats the hair.
Vidal Sasson- enuff said
Creme of nature shampoo/conditioner- gives great slip but once I rinse out it my hair turns frizzy and does not dry smooth.
Kemi Oyl- I really hate this stuff! It is sooo oily/greasy and just sits on the hair, it did not do anything that it said it would do.

Softee Coconut oil hair grease (my hair loves it on the ends)

Garnier Fructis Split-ends

Phyzique hydronated shampoo and conditioner (sample pack)

Dove conditioner (not for CW or my hair will never dry)

Hate

Infusium 23===found an old bottle and it worked well...kept my hair soft

Elasta Mango Butter

olive oil (alone)

Asha's hair butter ( made my hair dry and hard, made me sneeze like crazy and my friends)

LOVE:

Revlon's Cream of Nature Shampoo (I wish they made a companion conditioner)

Liv's Cream Hair Dress

Excelsior's Millennia Mud conditioner

My Clip-in Hair Extension!!!!!  The ultimate solution for bad hair days, I've been using them for years and won't give them up!

HATE:

Pink Lotion or any type of "Liquid Moisturizer" they all coat the hair and dry it out!  Your relaxers won't process well after use of these products over time, they cannot be removed from the hair!

They have come out with the conditioner - 2 types, one is for reparing (I think), and the other one is "Nourishing"...  The conditioner is not good though, does not detangle well as it claims. Not as much slip as the shampoo. But maybe that's just the "Nourishing". The "Repairing" might be ok.

ITA.  I remember trying out the conditioner a while back and I didn't really like it.  It is no comparison to the shampoo.  You're right....not much slip at all.
