some of you may of seen my previous post

http://www.hairboutique.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=39284& amp; amp; amp; amp; amp; amp; amp; amp;PN=2

well im back to update. YAY! so i went back to the salon to lighten my brassy hair *bleh*

now it is really light & i love it. i thought id share my experience since i always see people talking about going from black to platinum.

it took me 2 trips to the salon to get it really light... my hair is really hard to lift. im filipino. haha. anyway yah, here's the before & after pix!

*BEFORE*

*AFTER*

THESE ARE WITH FLASH...

WITH NATURAL LIGHT...

What do you guys think?? HUGE DIFFERENCE HUH. lol. after i got it done the first time i was like oh BLAHH....but then i got used to it and kinda liked it....then after this 2nd time...i look back @ those pix and im like...this is sooo much better.

the first trip to the salon was at the very end of december (dec 29 i think?). my hairstylist said to wait 4 weeks to let my hair rest, but i ended up not going back til last thursday (feb 16) just cuz i ended up not getting around to it.....

so i waited quite awhile... but i think its worth it, especially if you care about the condition of your hair. mine literally feels as soft and healthy as the rest of my virgin hair. YAY (=

oh & forgive my nappy hair, i woke up a couple hours ago and i haven't combed it yet. hehe. ill post pix later again once i actually try to do it.

Amazing. You should do your whole head, that would look nicer.

No I like it the way is is with FLASHES! of white - looks ace.  My asian friend has black hair and wants flashes of white and blue in her hair, so it should look really good .

Don't do your whole head. It looks really cool like that. I hate it when people suggest someone do something even more radical and possibly with an undesirable result. She wanted it like THAT! By the way, it looks amazing.

Any tone of blue goes fantastically with platinum blonde btw, my friend had sky blue done on the tips of her platinum hair...but the only problem was it faded soooo quickly.

After about 3 months it has faded completely out of her hair...but this is because it is a light blue.  Of course, after 3 months she has a lot of root growth and needs hair bleached and will probably have it trimmed again anyway...

Red would fade to leave orange in your hair...some blues may go greeny.

Welcome suki it really looks great & so shiny too.

My roots go yellow (all my hair is thecolour of your bleached pieces),I'd go for a toner Goldwells 10Violet or 10Pearl I leave mine in for 30 minutes & a mix of the both .

I went to a level 10 & my hair went so yellow I had to use a highlift tint to get back to light & the brassy came back too.

I love your hair! Gorgeous and AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! I wish I could get my blonde to look like that! And I think the blue would be great too!

To combat my brassiness, I've been using the "Fanci-Ful" rinse in White Minx. Works great but you have to apply it every time you wash. Not really a big hassle at all. I also use a purple conditioner -- mine is Davines brand which is a salon product. "Shimmer Lights" from Sally's works pretty well also.

Be Patient, until the black color grows out, or see a color specialist that knows what they are doing.  Going blonde if you use bleach can lead to hair breakage.  Maybe have fun with blonde wigs for now.

lol. yeah it was quite a bit ago.... but to answer sandy2986's question...

they basically bleached my hair again.... i couldn't do that all at one time b/c it would have really damaged my hair.

i let it rest for that one month so it wouldn't be as harsh to put bleach on as opposed to the same/next day. (=
