my hairs messed

ever since my bad highlighting experience 4 months ago my hairs been fu**cked! Ok lets see if I can explain this...
Before I highlighted,hairs was almost all natural, dark brown underneath, light brown growout the rest blondish red(I already had enough colors in my hair!)Then after I got talked into highlighting/lowlighting My hair was evry freakin color there is. Including some orange sploches and greenish/almost white streaks! I could not wear hair up because of the harsh streak lines. So anyway I
called the hairdresser the next day to get it fixed. He put a semiperminent reddish color in which faded in a month to what it still is. So right now it still has way too many colors, the roots look like crap and the highlights look dull. I didnt want to color again because my hair is in the worst condion from highlighting(ends breaking,hair loss, feels like straw)(never had this before!)but I have to do something with it and I need to know my options!
I have learned to live with it because I remember its better then it was after I first highlighted it. I want my hair no more then 3 colors(right now trheres about 10!)
What colors do you think i could go to? I have dark eyebrows and cant go to blond or to dark. I thought of mabye chocolate brown with red highlights but im sick of highlights. Any suggestions? sorry this is so long!
