I would say no because the line that is farther back is gonna run into your waves especially on the top. I did that before when I had no waves and wasn't in the military. If your waves go all the way down to your hair line then I don't think that would make sense.

He might be referring to a taper(tape) on the sides and back.  If so, it can give your haircut a fresh look.

ok, im frum ga and in ga florida bama and south carolina we call our line ups or line a tape, so if u go 2 da barbershop and wont a razor lineup u tell him, i wont a razor tape, when i 1st moved 2 tennesee i got clowned at da barbershop cuz i aint kno dey called dem lineups

yeah it looks good when u first get it but wait till it grows back its gonna look ugly unless you keep on getting it and eventually you will have a receding hairline
