should say I am confused. I have bought my hair locally for years and I was always told to buy Yaky permed straight by Milkyway, well I thought I was spending a good penny on my bags of hair to later find out that my weave should have lasted three months compaired to 4-6 weeks. I washed my hair weekly to later find my hair shedding and tangled by the second week. I live in upstate New York and I have bought my hair from B&V Discount and Ester's wigs. I honestly thought it was the person who was doing my braid and weave styles... until I opt for going for someone with a great reputation on doing weaves. I drove to Middletown, NY which is a haul for me and had my hair done at The Hair Studio, it was rather expensive but my hair looked great. I am now in my 4th week and my weave looks like crap simply because the hair is crap. I have read the forums and asked tones of questions but no one is answering me. I need to know what is the best hair for long term weaving

Hello, I have gone through the same probelm as well with weaves, I am currently trying this hair called Black Diamond, one of my close friends had it in her hair for 6 months no lie, I personally saw it in her hair. the trick is that you have to take care of the hair likes it your own and she washed the weave with pantene sleek and shine which softens and detangles the hair making it more managebale, I have had the hair in my head for 2 weeks so far and just washed with sunsilk straighten up shampoo and conditioner, (always condition) and the hair feels really silky and soft to touch. Also do not add alot of products to the hair, I only spray oil sheen once a week and wrap it every night with wrap pins and a satin scarf. I use sulpher 8 grease every wash on my scalp to take care of the dryness and itching. All the products to maintain the weave can be purchased at walmart or your local supermarket for really cheap.

and to add, I have used Milky Way before and had horrible results and p.s dont forget to trim the weave a bit as it gets older, you can trim it yourself .

Thank you so much for the tips.  I broke down and called my hair dresser.  She told me about this site luxurylocs.com.  They gurantee the best hair and I have read great  reviews.  I plan to order the Indian Natural straight within the next week.  You can use the hair for a year.  Until then I will use my optimum shampoo and conditioner and trim the split ends.  I had my current weave in for 5 weeks now and it's the Yaki hair.

Thanks for the tips once again.

WOW... that is not good.  Things happen for a reason, because I tried to order the hair and I was having problems with their website.

Thank you so much for your help.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo LUXURY LOCS!!! I will not share my experience (which wasn't that bad, but enough to turn me off from buying again..) But many others I trust have had VERY bad experiences buying from Luxury Locs..

IMO, what kind of hair to get depends on how willing are you to spend a little more than what you pay in the BSS for better hair that not only lasts through your install, but is reusable for SEVERAL installs, and maybe even SEVERAL years.. Please go to my fotki (http://public/fotki.com/divavocals) and go to my website (link in my profile and siggy.. The Fotki has pics of some of the hair I've used so you can see some of the brands available to you.. The website has lots of tips and links to weave care information.

At the end of the day no one can really tell you which hair you should buy.. We can share recommended vendors, but which one depends on your budget, and personal preferences/personal style. You will have to do a little research on your own, but here's a list of vendors to get you started.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post those links for me.  I am telling you, you have saved my pocket book from luxurylocs.  I however have to find some good hair and have it delivered to me before 12/7.

One more question your radio is that 7 pm EST?

Hello,

I used to go to B&V and Ester's wigs but I was having the same problems with the hair as you. I found a hair store in Spring Valley (which is a haul) the hair is rather expensive but it lasts for about a year. I don't remember the name of the store off hand but I am going there tomorrow and I will let you know. Star

If Halley's has it in stock, you will get the hair by your appt.. Did you inquire when you placed your order when you can expect the hair to be shipped?? This way you can get an idea when it will arrive..

I use MilkyWay and it is THE BEST! I have been wearing weaves for almost 5 years now and have tried all kinds of brands. This one is it! I have had this same MilkyWay weave for the past 4 months, going on 5.

I dunno why you had so many problems.Confused Maybe you washed it too often or used too much grease on the scalp that made it slip out? I only wash once every 3-4 weeks or so and use no grease between washings. I really have to say it is the most natural feeling, soft, easy hair I have ever used.

Based on all the reviews, I would say you are one of a very few who were satisfied with this vendors products.. Like I said already, my experience wasn't that bad, but it was bad enough to turn me off from buying again.. The hair went to good use.. I gave it to a friend of mine..

However as I stated, many others have had VERY bad experiences buying from Luxury Locs.. Here is one of MANY threads on BHM regarding this vendor.. this one is the most comprehensive of the many threads: BEWARE OF LUXURYLOCS.COM

Could be the products you are using on the hair.. Hard to give an answer unless we know what you are using on the hair..
