hair relaxers for asian males

okay guys i have the typical asian male hair....it sticks out and doesnt hug my head and kinda gives me a fro. im trying to grow my hair out and make it look kinda like a modern shag (zach efron look). i read on here that relaxers when used on asian hair gives it some texture and helps solve the problem of our hair. is this true and can i buy a product and do it myself? if not how can i get my hair to go down and not look so fro like and more texture and make my bangs kinda go to the side?
