I use it from time to time. I usually put 1 tsp in 2 c warm water and pour it over my head after I wash or conwash. What I like doing better though is putting 1 tsp baking soda into my cheap conditioner (suave, vo5 or white rain) to wash with. My hair feels cleaner putting it into my conditioner to wash with as opposed to just pouring it over my head.

It acts as a natural cleanser without all of the harsh chemicals like the ones found in shampoos.

I do it at least once a week. Every other day if I'm wearing my hair loose.

Am I the only person that has had trouble using baking soda for shampooing?  I am a natural and boy did it leave my hair harsh & dry.  Maybe I used to much or did something wrong but I didn't like the way it left my hair.

^^I'm natural too but my hair always feel soft after using it, and my products work better too. How do you use it? I mix a little in my hand with my conditioner and massage it in my scalp. Whatever gets on the length of my hair is form rinsing it. I only do the full length once a month or so for clarifying and I use more.

Hey BeautyWitch, are you suppose to rinse your hair with "Apple Cider Vinegar"? I hear that a lot from people...or can you just rinse with water?

I was mixing it with water making it a paste and applying.  But I didn't use AVC afterwards.  Do you think that was the issue?  Maybe I should prepoo first.

However, I will try it again using a conditioner instead and see what happens.  The water where we are located is hard water and I usually have to deep condition something serious even after regular shampooing.

I'm relaxed and also use apple cider vinegar from time to time. I like mine diluted well so I mix 2 tbsps acv with 160z water and slowly pour that over my hair after washing with the baking soda. I then put on a quick conditioner (usually Suave something) without rinsing the acv out. Leave the condish on for 1 min then rinse. It leaves my hair feeling really detangled and the smell doesnt linger.

I think this might have more to do with your water than anything else. Have you thought about investing in a filter. Hard water can reek havoc on hair.

I always pre-poo also so that might help and the conditioner helps to soften the hair.
