Much like the invention of the wheel, where mankind
suffered through many years of excess strain and labor before the
genius of simplicity struck an individual during the 5th millennium BC
with the notion to create a wheel to expedite movement, it wasn’t until
the 2nd millennium AD that two men were inspired to develop a shaving
tool so innovative that it not only improved shaving process
dramatically, but their invention has taken what was once an
uncomfortable process and turned it into an extraordinary
experience…welcome to the birth of Rolling Razor.
From this moment forward, the Age of Shaving can be broken
down into two distinctly different periods, 1) The Stick Age (beginning
of time – 2000 AD) and 2) The Ring Age (2000 AD – Infinite). If it were
not for the partnership of two men who truly personify the idea of
“entrepreneurial spirit,” men and women may have been wearing bits and
pieces of toilet paper on their faces forever. Fortunately for those of
us who shave, in the year 2000, these two men crossed paths and began a
dialogue that marked the beginning of The Ring Age.
It was the first of many conversations the two future partners
would have that centered around one core conundrum…with so many shaving
options on the market today, how is it possible that we both dread the
thought of shaving everyday? That one simple question opened the
floodgates to countless hours of discussion, research and most
importantly, action. Like all those driven by entrepreneurial spirit,
every question led to another answer and every answer led to even more
questions, until they learned that in the global shaving market,
Gillette and Schick owned a staggering 97% of the market share; the
very reason the shaving experience had barely evolved over the years
was becoming painfully obvious to both men…it didn’t have to.
The first “stick-form” shaving tool officially hit the market
over 105 years ago and the only thing that had changed in that period
was the blade count and slight cartridge modifications, the stick
remained. There was no need to improve the human shaving experience
when the majors could spend their virtually endless marketing budgets
on shaving gimmicks that served a different agenda. The epic moment for
these two gentlemen had arrived, their greater purpose was not only to
prove that shaving could be something amazing, but also expose and
break an industry monopoly that had controlled our shaving options for
far too long. The two men immediately formed Rolling Razor and began
building prototypes without delay.
Their epiphany was simple yet profound, the stick must
go…enter the ring! After spending many years handcrafting hundreds of
prototypes, working with countless focus groups and utilizing both of
their natural proclivities for precision and perfection, they arrived
at the revolutionary Rolling Razor design - a never before seen shaving
instrument that puts the index finger inside the razor and wraps the
middle and thumb fingers around the handle. The shortened distance
between the body of the handle and the dual shaving heads provides the
shaver with greater control and accuracy than competitors’ razors,
reduces nicks, cuts and allows users to apply precise amounts of
pressure to contours that during The Stick Age were unreachable. Not to
mention the fact that the Rolling Razor’s revolutionary hi-tech convex
triple blade, gives users the only dual-direction shave with the option
of utilizing different cartridges simultaneously for the optimal
experience.
Like most inventors, the founders and creators of Rolling
Razor set out to improve a personal experience that is making its way
to the rest of humanity, for that, they are humbled. It was this
discovery however, that has ended an era in shaving that was beyond the
users’ control and the Rolling Razor family has vowed to never stop
fighting for your right to have options.
Get out of The Stick Age; much like the wheel, the ring has come full circle. Welcome to The Ring Age…welcome to Rolling Razor!
