QuoteReplyTopic: Know How to Change Textures ?? Posted: March 16 2008 at 7:15pm
Okay ladies, I know there is a way to make silky hair more yaki but is there a way to change a course yaki texture into a light yaki texture ?????
When I first started buying lf's I bought a yaki thinking it would look more like a light yaki and ofcoarse it doesn't. I thought I would be able to give it to my neice who has course yaki hair but it's too small for her. I love the quality of the unit and I want to keep it because it's already cut and styled but I can't pass off coarse yaki as my own hair. Will a relaxer or something else make it less coarse?

I thought of the regular old relaxer too flwlover but I wasn't sure. I used to do my own relaxers years ago on my real hair so I know how to do it. I didn't know what they did to the hair to make it yaki so that's why I was hesitant. I didn't know if they used chemicals or some type of machine to make the crimps and I didn't want to do anything to the hair that would just burn it out from excessive processing.
Whatever I decide to do I'm probably gonna do it this weekend so I'll keep you guys posted. I don't have a fotki so I'll post pics as soon as I figure out how to upload them diirectly into the thread.

I believe Sexi said it best when she stated, "Embrace your inner white girl". I don't think (don't know for certain) that African American perms/relaxers will work on Indian and Asian hair. Their hair texture is closer to causasian hair than ours. Just something to think about.

I forgot about that whole "embracing your inner white girl" thing from BHM. Too funny ! I think you're right though. This isn't AA hair. Is the Ogilvie Hair Straightener made for Caucasions? Maybe that might be an option too if it is.
