I currently have a really nappy afro.  I rarely wash my hair because when wet my afro doesnt look firm.  It easily goes down after 20 mins.  I kind of want to get the poofy, shiny yet firm.  Anyone that has experienced with afros how can I achieve that?  How can I get rid of the nappy hair as well?

You need to use a good moisturizer or light pomade.  Also, you need to wash your hair more often to keep it health and clean.
