The unique take on the holidays

The interior of your house is a showplace for your decorating talent. How you arrange your Christmas decorations will show your love of the season and your unique take on the holidays. No two homes are alike and yours should be filled with only the decorations that make you truly happy. There are few rules. Go with what pleases wholesale christmas gifts. But there are some guidelines you can go by to make the most of your interior décor this Christmas.

How big or small your house is will matter a bit in what you plan for your holiday decor. If you have a larger house with high ceilings, there are more things you can do than with a Cape Cod layout. But that doesn't mean smaller homes are any less fabulous Artificial Christmas. You can make a small or large house sparkle with cheer if you do it right.

Scale your decorations to the space you have. If you know you only want to do up one room in your house and leave the others untouched, go all out for that one room. If you want to do a house-wide decorating extravaganza, pick a theme and carry it through the whole house.

Always start by assessing what you already have. If you've collected Colored Christmas Trees decor as hand-me-downs, there may be a few treasures among them. Older Christmas décor is now very popular. If you have any German glass ornaments from the 1940s or tinsel from the 1950s, you'll want to bring that out. Pick out the pieces from your collection that really mean something or that you really love. Consider donating the rest. If you don't like what you've stockpiled, you're not going to use it. Clear the space in your basement or attic and get some items that really make you happy.

Now, take a look at what you have. Is there any theme emerging? Do you see a lot of snowmen? cheap christmas gifts? Nutcrackers? You may find that you’ve inadvertently got a collection started. Choose a color scheme from among what you have. Are there lots of reds? Greens? Silvers? Pick one and this will be your anchor color. You've just created a theme!

Since Christmas is a time for giving, why not make a gift box tree? Wrap empty boxes of all different sizes and discount christmas gifts. Jewelry boxes of different sizes work well. Choose coordinating paper in different patterns and add bows. Hang your boxes all over the tree and your visitors throughout the season will marvel at your creativity. You might even want to hide a real present among the empty boxes and let your recipient try to find it. Some holiday gift baskets even come in some wonderfully colored boxes, these are always fun to collect and display in a whole new light!
