Her Glory

The scisser slid through her hair
As the tears slid down her cheeks
Each snip made her feel so small
she did not dare to speak

But time has past and now she proudly plants her feet
Firmly in the ground
And the growing hair is the only quiet sound
Yet her voice is plainly heard
And with each inch of hair she grows
The taller that she feels
No more will hair come tumbling down
To die there on the ground

She stands now like a queen
Hair the only crown fit for her so see
No more will she be trampled
She triumphs in her fight
She glides on like an angel leaving her
darkness in the night

Hi Juliet!
I just got done writing you a message on another board, or I would have written it here. I like your poem- its cool that you`re able to express your decision to grow your hair with words, as well as the regret of cutting it in the first place. I know that I (and I`m sure countless others) have been in the same place and felt that same regret.
I think that working out our fears and regrets and experiences, both good and bad, through a creative medium is incredibly helpful and can lead you to a greater understanding of yourself and the significance of your experience....geez, that sounded haughty, didn`t it? :)
Anyway, keep using that creative urge and don`t worry if you falter; I think that everyone has some greater form of expression in them that transcends simple words and speech. Kudos to you for having the courage to not only explore that possibility, but also to share it with others- you`ve just bared a part of yourself to all of us, and I for one, think its wonderful.
Blessings and peace and other wonderful things to you! :)

Love,
Inga
If I had wings then I could take you in
I'd stay on the ground and show you some things
The grass is strewn with blades of gold
all sights and sounds I have been told
all hopes, desires, seem to sing

But soft...what light from yonder window breaks?
It is the East and Juliet is the sun....

......and a pretty fine poet.

Thanks for sharing.
