I'm looking for clip on hairpiece that will give me instant length without resorting to weaving, wefting or gluing, something I can take off at the end of the day or night when I'm home or when I'm in mood to wear my real hair length. I'm in process trying to grow out my hair, which I know will take a while. So I thought I can add instant length in meantime till my real hair is at the length I want.

I checked out His and Her co., is it any good? Any other recs? I also look for reasonable prices. I have layered, choppy thick and straight hair that is above my shoulders. I'm wondering if clip on hairpiece is thick enough (like His and Her's 3 layer clip on 9" around) to hide my layers? Could they be blended into the clip on hairpiece well that no one can tell I'm wearing an hairpiece? I had to check on this before I buy anything. Will the clips be strong enough to hold up my fairly thick hair?

TIA!

I've used H&H hair for several years now - and had used them before about 12 years ago too. I've tried their clipon hair, it was pretty good and considering you don't have to wash them frequently the hair stays in better shape much longer than bonded or fused.

I always liked their service and prices but to be honest the last year or so I've noticed a difference in the quality. Their regular human hair silky straight always worked pretty well for several mos. Then I noticed w/new batches of hair, they'd mat up in a WEEK or two. I called and talked to them and they claimed they hadn't recieved complaints, but I know I'm not imagining it and I can't believe I'm the only one having problems. I haven't changed anything about the way it's applied or maintened, etc. Then I noticed recently a big discounted sale on the exact type hair I was ordering. mmmm...suspicious!

I thought at first maybe I needed to start ordering better quality hair so I paid 2x as much for their 50% kind, $160 for mixed 1/4 lb 20 inch...and this stuff stayed ok for about 3 weeks, but it's matting up too now!! I'm really upset!!! I am getting ready to start ordering from another firm so I'm starting to check out other internet hair places...any suggestions, anyone? I might try Atlanta hair, they look pretty good.

good luck to you -

I just ordered the 100% Human Hair (50%Italian Mink). I find that it is already dry and tangling. I'm conditioning and letting it air dry. Any suggestions of what else I could do?

The only hair I will ever buy in Bohyme hair.... If I wanted clips I would use that and make them myself, they're super easy to make yourself. I can use this hair for almost a year it seems... It's thick beautiful, and tangle free.... I LOVE IT!!!! There are lots of places to buy it online... Just google it... The average price is around $120 for 18" and around $140 for 22"

I hope that helps... You won't be disappointed I promise!!!

I have purchased the Silky Straight 22" from Glamour Hair -- http://glamourhair.com/extensions/straightweft.asp --
and I would definitely buy it again. I have had it for about 5 months and it's still wearing very well. I think this weft I got can actually go up to a full year of wear. I know a couple other girls who bought the same type and they're really pleased.

I have their color ring so if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

I've used hisandher and absolutely LOVE their silky straight cuticle hair for extensions; it's the best quality I've used, and their service is also really good. But I'm not clear on whether you want clip-in extensions (the kind that are clipped in below the ears and go across the back of your hair to add length, such as http://hisandher.com/store/shop_product.asp?main=MAIN_004&sub=SUB_004&pro=8 ) or a piece, like a jawclip ponytail or a 3/4 fall such as http://www.internationalwig.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=TK_BeautyIcon&Category_Code=SAddonJC or http://www.internationalwig.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=TK_Samantha&Category_Code=SAddon3Q ? I've never used the clip-in kind, but I use jawclips and falls like crazy. If you want one of those, I would actually check out the wig sites; the best selection, in my opinion, is internationalwig.com but there are plenty of others. eBay also has a good selection. Are you looking for synthetic or human hair? If human, be careful buying on eBay--you'd probably be better off sticking with hisandher, hairpiece, or glamourhair. If it's synthetic, any of the major wig sites would be good.

Wow! I love this. I finally have people to talk to about my obsession with my hair! I have extensions right now and as I said it's His and Her
50% Italian Mink (100% Human Hair). I'm doing everything they said to do but it gets so tangled and matted really easily. It looks great for about two hours after I wash and style it then it goes down hill from there. I don't know if should take it out and try something else or try to work with this hair.

Interesting. I didn't like the Italian Minx hair at all either. It tangled a lot, and (as I'm sure you know), you have to brush constantly to get out the tangles, so it seemed to break down very quickly. I know what you mean about it not looking very good a few hours after styling too.

The best I've used is the silky straight cuticle hair from hisandher--it's just gorgeous, but it's pricey. Soon, I'm going to try their regular silky straight (which isn't top-quality, but seems sturdier than the minx). I've also heard good things about Boheyme, particularly their wavy textures. Some kinds you might want to check out:
http://hisandher.com/store/shop_sub.asp?main=MAIN_001&sub=SUB_015
http://hisandher.com/store/shop_product.asp?main=MAIN_001&sub=SUB_002&pro=1

http://www.hairpiece.com/dept.asp?dept_id=01-004
http://glamourhair.com/extensions/default.asp
http://www.drlocks.net/Human%20Weave%20Hair.htm
http://store.yahoo.com/texasbeautysupplycom/bonestraight.html
http://hairaddition.com/tshairextensions.htm

The quality of the hair will differ from brand to brand of course, but all these sellers all receive good reviews for their service, shipping, and quality.

Good luck!
