.:: How to achieve Orlando Bloom curls?

hi im new here im a guy and was wondering if anyone could advice me on how to achieve the curly hair look like orlando bloom has when you naturally have straight hair.

i guess his curls are natural but still.. is there a way to achieve those curls? i have a curling iron from my sisters which i used but it didnt help whatsover... hot rollers whats that? is that different from normal rollers?

anyway i hope someone can advice me on what to do.. my hair is thick naturally so i hope i will be able to achiee those thick curls orlando has... for example view the following pictures...
