Hi Anyone thats listening please respond

I've been doing weaves for a while now. I braid my own hair and everything but I got my hair cut and he cut a whole lot so now i want to go back to being long cause now my hair is short since i braid it myself is there a pattern that i can braid my hair in that covers my sides and cause I usually braid it straight back and is it ok to perm my hair before i put in a weave cause I haven't had a perm in about a year  someone please help
