I may be able to provide some help.

When your child acts up, look them in the eye. Say " Do you see that time out chair over there" Your going there in 10 seconds if you don't stop. Make sure and point to it. If no change , then take them by the arm, and sit them in it. Don't be rough. Set a timer for 5 minutes. If no improvement , set it for another five. Also make sure no other siblings are around. This is not a game.

Ignore all promises.

Only tell your child once to do something. If they ignore you, nicely remove them from the room. You can tell them, until your blue in the face other wise.

Older children you can set the timer up to 20 minutes.

Comment on all their good actions. Great Job, O I like it when you ----.

Ask the little ones to see, who can pick up the most toys for mama.

When you go shopping, give them a quarter. Then tell them ," If their good they can spend it on the way out." Otherwise take it away.

Be consistant with your punishment. They have to understand, there is a punishment for their actions.

Correct on the spot. Don't wait until you get home. They won't understand then.

Don't over praise. Then the rest will think, mama likes him or her better.

Both parents go along with the punishment. Other wise you will hear," I'm going to go ask mama " Or visea - versa.

If you're going out for the evening. Make a recorded cassette tape of you reading a bedtime story, that they can play.

If dad travels, have him make a recording of things he says, when tucking them in.

These things are so comforting. Makes the lonely times go much  easier.

Make a recording of some classical music. You can play this in a baby's room to help with the Lulla- bye.

Make a recording of mama talking. Put it close to your baby. They will think mama is close by. Feel much more secure.

Let him / her help with the new baby. They can get mama the diaper. Then praise them.

If a child throws toys, take them away for two weeks. Explain why.

If your child doesn't put his bike way, then he / she doesn't get to ride for two weeks. Explain why.

If the older children drive your car, have the put gas in it. If they refuse take the keys away. Or video games, or going to the movies, or talking on the phone. Just make sure the punishment really has an affect on them.

Rule of thumb. Make sure when you set the rules, you stick to them.

More kid's tips:

Tie a small helium filled balloon to a button on a toddler's clothes. This will keep him in sight in a large crowd.

Tie several to a tent, so kids can locate the camp sight.

Tie several to a beach chair, so the little ones can spot ya.

Make a party invitation. Blow up balloons. Write the information on them. Now deflate an mail.

Kid's party punch. Fill a balloon with clean water. Tint it with food color. Put it in a bowl and freeze. Peel off balloon. Ready for a punch bowl.

Blow up balloons, and use as a place card, for a child's party. Put a name on it. Now tie to their chair.

Sew a button on both cuffs of their mittens. Now button them on their coats.

Put a piece of scotch tape on the inside of a child's wrist. This will occupy them, while they have a picture taken.

To reduce your child's long tangles in her hair. Take an braid it before going to bed. In the morning it will be free of tangles, and wavy.

To detange your child's hair.Comb from the bottom up, until the comb moves easily from crown to tips.

After combing out the tangles, brush the hair briefly to stimulate the scalp.

Don't need to make a birthday cake. More fun this way. Let all the kids at the party, decorate cup cakes. Do their own thing with the sprinkles, and all kinds of toppings. But first make the cakes in a flat bottom ice cream cone. Tons of fun to decorate. They'll enjoy it more.

Give your child a small clothes basket. He/she can around around and pick up his/her toys for ya. From there he/she can put them in there proper places. Make a game out of it.

Put your child's outfit's for school in a plastic bag. Mark the days of the week on each. Now when you're not around they can pull the bag for that day. Dress him, or her self. If your there, then you can pull it. This helps them build skills for them selves.

Fussy children that won't eat. Often fruits, and vegetables, and a whole wheat cracker.

Two year olds. They like peek a boo, sing alongs, someone reading to them, (but don't forget to show them the pictures.) Also bubbles, and follow me games. Just to name a few.

The best toys, are boxes and containers. They like to use their imagination.

Styrofoam meat trays work best in the tub. They float.

If they don't like getting their hair shampooed. Just put a sprinking can in the tub. Now tell them you've got to water the flower's, so they'll grow.

Hang a bell over their door. You'll know when they leave the room. Especially sleep - walkers.

Set a timer for baths. Then you won't hear " Well she/he was in there longer than me"

Get your child involved in mealtime conversations. You need to know what is happening at school. Maybe your child is being bullied.

If your child refuses to go to school, that is definitely a sign. Especially if he or she has been enjoying it.

More on those little Munchkin's:

So they can learn their address, and phone number. Just set them to the tune, of their favorite nursery rhym.

Holes in the kid's boots. Mend with an inner tube patch from the hardware store.

When you shampoo your child's hair. Put some vaseline across the forehead. It won't get in their eyes.

So your child doesn't sit toooooo close to the t.v. Just put a marker on the floor. Now make him/ her sit behind it.

Fill glasses of water to different heights. Now tap gently. They'll make different music.

Cut a two liter bottle in half lengthways. Use the side with the handle. Now catch a small ball.

Let's go bowling. Set up three empty milk jugs. Now have the kids throw bean bags at them.

Take your empty paper towel holder. Use it as a bat, for a ping pong ball.

Try to give your child a drink every day, around three o'clock. They need refueling.

Cut an apple in half. Spread the halves with peanut butter. Good, besides healthy.

Cut your chil's spaghetti with a pizza cutter. Also french toast.

Let your child be boss. They like to feel important to. So let them call the nights menu.

Give them a nice little treat. Cut up a hot dog. Serve the pieces on a small pretzel stick.

Let them play basket ball in their rooms. Take an old pair of socks. Now roll the tops all the way down.  Fun time!  Let them toss this sock ball into a trash can. Put it up on a dresser, or the like.

Bikes. If the brakes are squeeky, rub the rims with vaseline.

Boots. You can line these with carpet remnants.

Their clothes. You can buy these at a thrift store, if you need some to play in. They only accept good quality items.

Let your children help with the cleaning. This way they'll get to spend, some good quality time with you.

Take your child to the library. Let him/her pick out a book, for you to read. Then let him/her tell you, what it was about.

If your child says " I can't do that" say  why don't you try anyway.

Make sure your child, under stands your directions. Make him repeat what you said.

You can pick up nice toys at a Salvation army. The dept stores take them there. When they find out there missing parts. All you've got to do, is find out what piece is missing. Then call the manufacturer an order that part. There also cheaper, than the store price.
