LOCAL ASPIRING ENTREPRENEURS IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY GET THEIR BIG BREAK IN 2008

Atlanta, GA – January 3, 2008 – The 1990s marked the rise of the executive business suite, which would greatly impact the way small businesses operated and positioned themselves in the global marketplace. Now newly established Indivi Salon Suites (www.indivisalon.com) is creating the same opportunity for local beauty professionals. By renting individual salon suites, an alternative to booth rental and commission-based salons, Indivi helps local beauty professionals launch, manage and brand their own profitable salon without costly overhead.

Indivi Salon Suites first opened its doors in August 2007 with the goal of helping local beauty professionals with an established clientele affordably open their own salon. As a testament to the success of the business model, more than half of the suites were occupied shortly after the launch. The salon suite concept allows local beauty professionals to launch their own personalized mini-salon with total control of every aspect of their new business from décor and pricing to their individual hours of operation.

“Most hairstylists are creative professionals who pride themselves on their artistry and their individuality,” says Natalie Carlock, general manager of Indivi Salon Suites. “Unfortunately there’s not much room for individuality within the traditional booth rental and commission-based arrangements which dominate the industry.”

Indivi Salon Suites is comprised of 30 individual salon suites ranging from 100 to 220 square feet in an upscale retail establishment. Each suite is equipped with a workstation, shampoo bowl, hooded hair dryer, storage space and many additional amenities. The salon also covers the cost of the utilities for all suites in the complex. By providing hairstylists with their own retail space, and all of the major, top-dollar equipment required to open and run a salon, Indivi Salon Suites gives beauty professionals an opportunity to run their own business on their own terms without the hefty investment typically required. The business model also gives beauty professionals the ability to learn the ropes of entrepreneurship with very little risk and grow as business owners at their own pace.

“We’re giving beauty professionals an opportunity to invest in their future at a cost they can afford now,” says Carlock. “Stylists can finally have their own salon without the barriers of business loans, complicated real estate transactions, costly utility bills and many of the other obstacles that beauty professionals face when trying to start their own business.”

In addition to helping budding business owners within the beauty industry stand on their own two feet, the business model also promotes a sharper focus on the client. The studio arrangement not only provides more privacy, and one-on-one attention for the client, but it also gives beauty professionals the flexibility to better accommodate the needs of their clients, especially when scheduling appointments.

Dionne Gray, hairstylist and owner of Daphne’s Chair has been in the business for 13 years and currently occupies a suite at Indivi. “When I came to Indivi, I had my own clientele and they absolutely love it,” says Gray. “They enjoy the atmosphere, the intimacy of the space, and the one-on-one attention they get when they come in for their appointment.”

Gray also raves about the management at Indivi Salon Suites. “Indivi Salon Suites is a well-run operation and if we ever have comments or concerns we know that the management team will take care of us,” she says. “I’d highly recommend Indivi to other stylists because you can truly be a business owner without the hassles and drama.”

Indivi Salon Suites is located at 115 Promenade Parkway, Suite A in Fayetteville, directly across from the Fayetteville Pavilion. The salon offers suites to ambitious hairstylists, barbers, nail technicians, and massage and skin professionals with an established client-base and a strong desire to own their own businesses.
