Short-Med Hair + A Single Long Lock o' hair.

Well, I've got some of the prettiest locks you'll ever see, but I'm a guy and it's time for me to let go of the pretty. However, I wanted to keep one or two locks as a vestige of my former... whatever. I won't pretend that I don't care what others think of me, but I don't care if they think that I look a little bit crazy. There's good crazy and there's bad crazy, I'm aiming for the former, but I'm not always good at distinguishing between the two.

So, my problem is: where do I leave this lock? It seems to all come back to the rat tail, but that might be slightly too ghetto for me, and I ain't getting a 'stache and mullet to go with it. Does anyone have any alternatives in mind? With shorter hair, I would look something like this.
