Is it true if you hot iron your hair straight too often you can burn and damage your strands?  What has been your experience?

You should use Paul Mitchell Seal & Shine. That's what I use & I think it works really good. I purchased it from Lotion Source for only $6.00. Everywhere else I found was $10.

well I used to straight my hair a lot and it got damaged (I had frizz, split ends, my hair looked dry and fried), so a friend recommended me Pro Naturals Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment with Heat Protector which keeps your hair healthy, soft and shiny, plus it removes the split ends. and it has heat protector to avoid further damage to ur hair, so i recommend it because it really works.
