I spent most of my teens and early adult cutting my hair short. (~ 1/2 inch on top and 3/8 inch on side (if I am correct with a "4 on top, 3 on side").
I am now 23, and in August I decided to start growing it out again. I started cutting it short because in high school I got tired of using gel to get rid of the intense curling.
Right now, it is really thick.
The only time I like my hair is honestly after around two days without washing it, when it gets a shiny... clumped look, where it will push down to my skull, and kind of clump together. Almost a straight out of the shower feeling/look, without it being wet.
I normally don't let it get to that point.
I have tried several types of shampoos and conditioners. From moisturizing, frizzy to smooth, voluminizer, and "sleek and smooth".
Regardless of what I use, it always gets "poofy" and thick after it drys out. Usually the wind will blow it out.
My hair is not very resiliant either.
I have seen girls capable of running their fingers through their hair, and it always just goes RIGHT back to the way it was before.
If I do that, my hair actually sticks in the position after I run my fingers through it. It's almost like my hair goes to the most chaotic point.
I am trying to grow it out to something like this. http://hairstylegallery.info/Cool%20Chace%20Crawford%20Hairstyle.jpg or maybe 30PRmkOl4ro/StHXEy5xboI/AAAAAAAAWuo/o441AzIQhU4/s1600/Men%2BHaircuts%2B2010%2BHaircut%2BStyles2.jpg
