Using the Oster 76 ... do you get a different cut when the hair is wet versus dry?  Is the texture different?
What about guides?  Is the their a difference using the #2 metal versus #2 plastic comb?

I don't have an Oster 76, but I do use an Andis with different blades, and yes a #2 blade does cut slightly closer than a #2 plastic guard

I have a oster 76 and also a andis fade master. I cut hair with just a mist of water. once done I dry the hair and then fine tune as needed. I prefer to use ceramic blades, what a differance. I use a 3-1/2 for my wife. No gaurds, learn the clipper over comb - Much better.

Hair will feed better and cut smoother with just a misting of water... slightly damp but not wet, not dripping.
