Please help suggest new style....

Hi my problem is that I have quite a high hair line, I don't suffer from any hair loss as such just that I have a large forehead.
At the moment I have quite long hair in a center parting with length going down to just below my ears. I am desperate for a new style but find it very hard to talk a hairdresser for advice so just end up getting the same thing just a bit shorter.
Any advice much appreciated.
