I have been trying to achieve this with my hairdresser (who is very talented and tries to be accommodating), but so far, I think the front is a little too shorter than the back (a little too much like a bi-level)and the top layers are a little too short (top one is only about 3 1/2 inches).  Oprah--last season, 2004--had something similar, but I can't seem to get across to him.  Does anyone know where I might be able to find a good picture of this "do"--along with instructions for how to cut it?  Also, what is it called?

Is this it?

If your stylist can't cut it from this picture, you should get someone who can.

It looks like Jane has had layers her whole life.

The cut looks good on her...but she looks great! I wish I'd look half that good when I'm that age.

omg, I can't believe it, she's 68! Compare her with Bridgette Bardot, who is only 3 years older.

This picture is Bridgette Bardot on a very good day, as anyone who saw the photo linked to in the Bardot thread can tell you.

Unfortunately the original picture is gone now.

Oh dear, poor Bridget Bardot!  Too much makeup, probably to hide all the signs of age.

eKatherine, I've decided that you are the goddess of hair.  WOW, it's lovely!

Gee, thanks. I get a little nervous, goddess is a hard role to fill.

I think that Bridgette Bardot is not so much trying to hide the signs of age as a lifetime of excessive sun exposure and maybe some tobacco, too.
