QuoteReplyTopic: What should I do? bad bohyme Posted: December 06 2006 at 11:42am
I recently installed a client with Bohyme I got from a company called amazonhair.com. It was my first install ever with the bohyme brand hair. I just saw my client for a follow up and it is just horrible! Stiff and really dry, like cheap hair!!! I paid $250 for it!!!! I don't know if that is how it's supposed to look, I've been spoiled by using mostly russian hair, which keeps its silkiness. It took 6 hours to install, I used 9 oz. of hair! She says she hasn't used any leave in conditioner, but only washes it twice a week.
What should I do?
Should I offer to take it out and put in some "real" bohyme and just eat the cost? I only charged her $250 to install and $250 for the hair. She knew I was ordering from a company I'd never ordered from before, but it's not either of our faults, but I feel responsible. Should I have her cover half the cost of new hair or should I pay for it?
Does anyone have any level #2 or #4 bohyme they want to sell? It's mostly the dark underneath part that's really dry.
I have learned my lesson and I am ordering from Sherrie and crossing my fingers!! I hope bohyme is better quality than this, because I would like to keep using it!!!!!

Bohyme French refined is a full volume wavy/textured hair. If she doesnt use products or maintain it right, like any curly hair it WILL look dry and unruly. Curly textures take product and proper maintainence to look good. You need moisturizing/wave controlling products to keep this hair in check.
Condition it and put some product on it and Ill bet it will look a whole lot different. This texture will never be sleek and smooth if thats what your after, dont go for the french refined. And if she is not washing it, she has to be combing or brushing, and that will make the hair go poofy, you need to either wet it, or spay a spray a product on it to return it to norm. Just like a perm...I rememeber the days of perms, if you brush them you looked like you had an afro. You had to spritz the hair with water or leavein conditioner and use a pic or wide tooth comb.
heres a couple of pictures of the French refined I just took out a few days ago after wearing for 6 weeks. This is just washed conditioned and airdried. (the first one is upside down) ooops

The last one is actually a piece that I took out in the shower a couple of days before my takedown
The hair is really not that hard to maintain and keep it looking good, but the routine is different than straight hair.
After a few days of not washing it it WILL get frizzy looking, it needs products/ spritzed down and combed through.

Should I offer to take it out and put in some "real" bohyme [...]
Insinuating these companies (hairandextensions not too long ago and now amazonhair) are not selling "real" Bohyme because it's not performing to expectation are really unfair.
What works for one may not work for another. I myself have tried Bohyme FR and the last two "REAL" packages of it turned to rope real quick on me.
Let's give all companies the benefit of the doubt until it's proven otherwise.
I agree with Amms statement. These companies are well known 'BIG' vendors with pretty rock solid reputations.
There has only been a few 'known' fake sellers. Its a very RARE occurance. There is just too much risk of lawsuits and patent infringement for a company to try to sell hair passed off as another brand, especially online where all the world has access to their products.
how does the bohyme french refined hold up to curling?
I like big wavy curls for special occassions and the soft wet curls for everyday. Will that hair give me those two things and last a good 6 to 8 weeks?
I'm still a little confused about what makes bohyme better if anyone feels like explaining it to me.
I haven't installed my sally hair yet cuz I'm waiting to see the wawa I ordered. I may want to try my first set of shrinkies with french refined boyhme hair instead of sally's satin strands since everyone says that it doesn't last as long. Plus sally's is straight. My hair is naturally curly/wavy and I think it may blend better with something french refined. I only ordered french refined once or twice before a long time ago from his and hers and it didn't work out too well. I think it was the 50% italian mink french refined and it looked pretty dry after a few washes. I had to switch to french bodywave, sometimes 50% sometimes 100%, which lasted a little longer but it's so expensive to use with fusion. Most of it sheds out so fast that I hate throwing money down my shower drain.
If shrinkies or protac hold up for me longer without massive shedding I want to invest in good hair again. How does bohyme hold up to his and her 100% italian mink? I need a fine hair because mine is baby fine. And to match it perfectly it has to be wavy or have big curls.
If you can recommend any hair that has the qualities I just described please do. I've still never used remy hair becaue I haven't been able to find a fine version of it for less than 250$ for 4 oz. I need at least 9 ounces for my install, so I usually buy 12oz to make a headband or hairpiece that matches and have a little extra for replacement.
ahhh yes, that is the thread. The girl contacted me with serious issues. Things that seemed WAAAAY out of the ordinary for Bohyme. I put her in contact with Bohyme's reps, and they resolved the issue.
And as Kristin said in that other thread just ask Bohyme's reps they will tell you about the fakes. They are out there. I doubt that they are high profile sellers that we all deal with and I doubt they would publicly advertise and probably keep it pretty lowkey.
When I received the hair it was already very dry, but it has just gotten worse since she's washed it.
It's true that I shouldn't be accusing this company just yet, it might have been a bad batch or something, so please forgive me.
When I received the hair I called and asked if they had had any reports of the hair not performing well, and he said no.
I should have taken a picture today so you could all see how bad it was! I remember back in the day I wore hair that was non-cuticle and coarse, pretty much the cheapest quality you can get, and it still performed better than this hair has, and that's after it was worn for three months.
I just want to cry! I've never had bad hair before!
I am taking out all of her hair and reinstalling with some bohyme I'm going to order from sherrie and some asian remy I just got from amm. I already know it will be tons better! The asian remy feels so much better than the bohyme that she's wearing even started out as! I might just break even on the whole thing, but at least I've learned my lesson!!!! I will never order from someone if I can't find at least a couple of good reviews on here about them. I know I've saved myself a couple of times from mistakes I would have made by reading this board, but inevitably we all will still find new things to learn about.
I mostly feel bad for the poor girl, and I'm going to make it right even if I end up not making a cent from all of this! I'm not asking her to pay for anything since she already paid for the first install.
Anyways, I'm going to contact the company and see if they can do anything.
Sherrie, your hair looks way better than my clients bohyme does! Even after I brushed her hair all out, I immediately tried to run my fingers through it and couldn't. All tangles.
So Amm, have you had good experiences with Bohyme, or just those last two? Is it kind of hit and miss?

I don't know whats commonly done, but, if I were the customer I would want it redone for free if it's THAT bad (And I know bad HH! trust me). I guess that's totally your desicion, but it only seems fair, IMHO.

I got the same issue with two batches from hairandextensions and yes the hair was of a poor quality.
I never got a single response after all the emails and phone calls about that problem from that company and I have been very disapointed by their customer service.
I also doubt that it's fake Bohyme, because this company as you said Sherrie has a very good reputation and would have more to lose than to gain by doing so.
I have got some Bohyme hair from you Sherrie and there is NO comparison between the two kinds of Bohyme.
I guess it is bad luck, bad batches are probably rare in Bohyme but they exist though!
