After going for nearly a year without extensions, I finally went and did it again. This time, I'm using about 6 oz of Tease hair, U-tip body wave in 22in. color 1B.  I also dyed some 613 hair purple, but I don't know if you can see the streaks in these photos.  They're pretty low quality (Sorry about that. I have a sidekick).

I did this all by myself.  It took about six hours, with LOTS of breaks.  Probably 4 hours total work time.

These are the rows.  I think I did pretty good getting them straight and even.

The final product after blending and curling. My own hair is shoulder length, and very fine/thin.

The magic accessory without which I could not have managed to do my hair - the best $8 I've ever spent - from Ikea:

OH MY GOD!  That is beautiful!!!!  You did an incredible job honestly!  I could never attempt fushion, but your install looks flawless!  That hair looks really great too!  Great job!  WOW
And I should really look into getting me one of those mirrors...do they have to MOUNTED???  I don;t really feel like making any holes in the wall.

WOW, WOW, WOW.  Amazing.  Thank you soooooooooo much for sharing your photos.  You did a beautiful job and to do fusion all by yourself is truly impressive.   You are right...those mirrors would help so much.  Thanks again for the photos.  They are great.

These three-way mirrors are super helpful too (if you have another mirror behind it)
My husband and I created a small travel size one that I LOVE! They're super easy to make.Thumbs%20Up

I just noticed your partings.  I am getting a little obsessed with partings myself.  And yours are GREAT.  I can't believe you did this all by yourself.  You are truly amazing.  And thanks Malibu for the mirro links.  I definitely want to get one.

No problem! I know Home Depot sells some nice three-way mirrors too as well as Bed Bath and Beyond for the extending mirrors. Mine has a light on it. One side is a 5x mag and the other side is normal.

Yes, truly spectacular install.  Even with a mirror I doubt I could do this.  You are very talented to do this all by yourself.

Gawsh, ya'll are too nice!  Really, I'm blushing.

I used a 1" barrel curling iron to get the waves.

The mirror really is fantastic.  It was easy to  mount, but you do need to put holes in your wall.  I couldn't have done it without the mirror.  I just sat on my counter top, pulled the mirror close, and had a perfect view of the back of my head.

To get the rows straight and sections even, I just really took my time.  It was slow going at first, but once I got the hang of it, I got much faster.  I took care to make sure I didn't get any of those little cross hairs, and I used one of those hair templates.

I tried shr***ies once and it was way too hard, and I tried the tape which lasted 3 weeks max in my hair.  I've had pinchbraids (and took a class in it), but really doubt I could do those on the back of my head.   Other than that, I'm a total beginner.  I think if I can do it, anyone can.  Seriously, this was easier to do than the other strand by strand methods.

honestly I give you major props!  that is such an insane install!  and the hair itself looks great!!! Keep us posted on how the hair holds up for you...
I think evantually I may want to do a combination of fusion and wefts...i would love to some fusion in the back as well as some in the front..

would you horribly mind eloborating on how you did those curls??? did you start from the root and curl the hair around the iron or did you start from the ends and curl up?

Milachkaa - I started at the bottom and curled up.  On some of the top strands, I also started half way up and curled the rest of the way (if the bottom was already curled).

Really, it wasn't that hard.  I was really nervous about doing it, and put it off for almost a week, but once I sat down and started, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I can't even do pinchbraids on the FRONT of my head on myself!!  In fact I'm getting ready to do a whole new all-fusion install (feeling REALLLLLY cheap, and DIY-ish!!).

I agree with what everyone said - your partings are GREAT and the result is beautiful!!  PLEASE let us know how the Tease bonds and hair work!! I'm anxious to try them but decided this time to try the Donna Bella Hair.
