My first advice is to get a tail comb or something else that has a long thin point and use that instead of the teeth of a comb.

Second, go slow. Going fast and panicking will only make things worse. Use this as some quality time with her. Perhaps find a comfortable chair and have her sit on your lap while you work.

Third if the conditioners you have aren't working go to the store and buy some Aussie brand "Knot Forgotten" or it's old name "Slip"

When i went to detangle my manikins' hair a few months ago they had been in the closet for three years and they all had birds nests and I put a little bit of the Knot Forgotten in a spray bottle filled the rest of the way with water and i used that as a detangler. It is a detangling conditioner meant for applying and rinsing in the shower but I used mine in the spray bottle for them and I got all the knots out.

And finally Make sure you work from the ends towards the scalp not the other way. If you comb downward you will push the knots together and make them worse.

Good luck and I hope that helps.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! I worked slow and it is out. I am so happy if I had to cut her hair, which has never been cut and is down past her waist, I would have been beside myself. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Great, that is really awesome. Good mommy. :)

It's always best not to panic with things like tangles or gum or lice.

Many of those things are not as impossible to deal with as they seem or as they used to be. They just take proper care and patience. Sometimes some hair might need cutting but it isn't as much as one would think.

You are welcome. Now you can give the advice next time :)
