pre relaxer conditioning

Hi, could anyone give me some information on pre relaxing conditioning? I'm planning to relax my hair tomorrow and I was wondering is there anythng I need to do to my hair prior to relaxing. Over the last couple weeks I've been doing biweekly washings with a deep conditioner. What else (if anything)should I do prior to tomorrow's big event? What kind of base do you ladies use on your hair prior to relaxing? I usually use vaseline or some other hair oil for my scalp, but nothing on my hair. Should I be using something for my hair also?
