My mom has forever been bugging me to get a feather cut. I`ve always told her no because i didnt know what it waz. Anybody have a better explaination of the feather cut? Any pics or explainations would be greatly appriciated!

Umm..... why is it so important to your mom that you get a feather cut? Maybe if she likes the feather cut so much she should get a feather cut and let you wear your hair as you like.

I know this isn`t an answer to your question but maybe this issue should be addressed first.

Oh my God! We have a word in Britain to describe things like the feather cut. That word is "naff", meaning as uncool as it is possible to be. Remember the lead singer of 70s popsters Sweet? No of course not, they were well before your time. Well they sang "Fox on the Run" (ask your mom) and the guy had long girly locks all feathered out at the bottom. He`s dead now - probably from embarrassment. Suffice to say it is not only the song that is well before your time, that style is too!

Okay... but your hair probably has the "right texture and stuff" for other styles too. I guess I don`t understand why it`s so important to your mother that you have trendy hair, but that`s for you to decide.

And Phil, I do remember a few of the hits from the Sweet. "Fox on the Run," "Ballroom Blitz," "Love is Like Oxygen..." Great pop stuff... for its time! And you`re absolutely right, these trendy feathered styles are straight from the 70`s. Yawn.

Is that the hairstyle that Farrah Fawcett used to have back in the 70`s when she was a Charlie`s Angel?

Try www.thesweet.u-net.com/ffotos.htm. All sorts of photos here. Lead singer Brian Connolly is the blond one but the others` cuts are just as bad. To *Jo*: It was sort of the same style though Farrah`s was more layered (see latest Jerky Flea postings on the subject), but whatever it still looks more flattering on women than men.
