I am 17 and have medium brown hair that I want to get cut and blonde highlights added. My hair is straight and is about 2 inches past my shoulders. I work and would have to pay for it myself. My question is how expensive is it to get highlights and how often do they have to be redone to keep the look up. Which is better - chunks or streaks?

Also, any advice for my haircut? I have a roundish face. I am open to any suggestions.

A full head can be around 60-65 dollars or so. It All depends on the salon. You usually need to have highlights retouch every 3-4 mths or so, but that depends on how fast your hair grows. If the roots start looking bad..its prolly time to get them re-done. Hope that helps

Thanks.....Anyone else have advice?

What does everybody think of these styles? 3830, 5491, 3785 , or 3822? Any other suggestions?

I like #3830. It`s cute...similar to my cut but shorter. #5491..I think the bangs may get tiresome being so long and all. #3785 I like that one too and you could jazz up the part you know maybe zig zag, crooked things like that. I don`t care for #3822. Let me know what you decide.

I think streaks much more than chunks - I find they are a little unsublte.

As for a cut, try something with layers just above the shoulder - that way you can still tie it back, but it`ll be a bit if a change
