I`m sorry but i am highly offended that you would try to talk to your girlfriend into getting her hair cut that short. The thing is that, if she loves her hair long and she only wants to do it to please you, then what would happend if your relationship with her wasn`t forever. And what if she ends up not liking the haircut and then she is also lost without the reason why she cut her hair. Talk to her about getting her hair short and see if she would like it, and stuff like that, but please do not try convince her to get it cut short.
But anyways off to the answer of your question. As you ask is this normal, yes its very normal. To grow out hair it takes a LOT of patience and hard work (ugh i have been for 2 years almost and its very hard.) So think about it as though you just finished some great masterpiece which you had a large amount of pride because of it, and then you are forced to break it, burn it or whatever would destroy your masterpiece. She is just trying to find some other person to be with her when she does this so that her pain would not be as great.
Don`t worry people doing stuff in groups is perfectly normal, but as I had already said PLEASE do not talk her into cutting it off. Just talk to her to see if she would want to do it, and let her know that you still believe she is beautiful no matter how her hair is.

She is thinking about it and wants to do it, but is afraid. She is trying to talk her friend into going short with her and wont cut hers unless her friend does. Is this normal? Do girls usually cut off their hair in groups? Any thoughts?
Hi, Since no one is responding to your e-mail I will. If you have been with this girl long enough or any girl you should know that a girl always has to have her firend by her side doing whatever she is doing. For example a girl won`t go to the bathroom in a public place unless her friend goes with her, a girl won`t call a guy unless she seriousally talks it over with her friend, a girl won`t wear something unless she has permission from her friend. That`s how girls work, I am one and I still don`t get it. I`m very independent and do whatever I please. So if she won`t do it unless her friend does it that`s totally normal.
