I`m growing my hair out long. It`s very thick My barber says that ifI grow it out too much(Past my shoulders), it`ll eventually be really hard to manage and go into a poffy triangley shape. I know a girl who grew her hair out, her hair was like that but as it grew even longer the puffy triangle when out of it. Will it be like that? I really want long hair.
He said I have a lot of scalp heat (And this causes the bits at the back to go poofy)and that my hair would bleach/highlight twice as fast. Does this mean half the damage?

`if I grow it out too much it`ll go into a poffy triangley shape`? thick hair goes poofy when it is short because it has no weight to hold it down. wat is this barber talking about?

I`m not sure he said it`d be hard to manage but he was probably talking about long hair in general being harder to manage (Cause there`s more of it)and getting made fun of in school =(

The barber was probably discouraging you from growing your hair because that means you`d go over there and get your haircut more...

Thick hair doesnt have mean hard-to-manage hair. Its more about what the texure of your hair is. Are the individual hairs thin and fine or thick and coarse? The finer your hair is, the more it tangles in most cases. I have a lot of fine wavy hair so it gets really tangly. I usually wear it up so it doesn`t get tangled though. My hair is very healthy and it now reaches the top of my jeans...so growing out healthy hair isn`t as hard as the barbers and beauticians will tell you. After all, they cut hair for a living. :)

The `triangle` shape is the way hair naturally grows but if you don`t like it you can just get trims to make your hair more blunt at the bottom.

I don`t know exactly how damaging bleach would be on your hair but I`m sure it`s damaging enough. It would be hard to grow out your hair while bleaching it is all I know. If you do bleach your hair you`d probably have to cut some off the ends. That kinda defeats the purpose of growing it out i think.

Ummm squiggle in case you didn`t know short hair on guys is just a trend God didn`t give ANYONE long hair - Girls only have it because they GROW IT OUT TOO. Guys used to have long hair hundreds years ago. It`s only fashion that causes guys to have short hair, and I don`t like fashion, although fashion is bringing about long hair occasionaly too. I suppose you feel very macho with your Homophobic attitude, short George Michael-esque hair (no offence to Gay people I have nothing against them my GirlFriend was Bi, just trying to play this guy on his "own terms" so to speak). I don`t need to have short hair to reasure me. You obviously don`t feel comfortable enough in your masculinity. I`m not gay or even Bi, and it`s none of your business anyway, and the way you talk about gay peopel is very immature. I don`t buy into your "manly" S**t I think I`m manly enough already I`ll just be me instead thanks.

I think you should grow your hair out. Not only is long hair EXTREAMLY sexy on guys, if you cut it really short and decide you don`t like it, you`ll have to go through the painful stages of growing it out again.
