Hey! I have long waist length hair and I'm ready for a change!!! I don't want to take of too much length, but I'd like something funky with all-around long choppy/piecey layers. Do I just tell my stylist that or what? I'd really like to have a couple pics to take in for further reference, so if anyone knows where I could find a few, it's be greatly appreciated!

Thanx,
Me

I had waist length hair and went first to a bob cut then to a short pixie which I have now.

If you don't want to go short but keep your hair long with a layered look, DON'T EXPERIMENT YOURSELF! Go to a good salon and get suggestions from a beautician because if it is cut wrong, even if you keep your hair long, it won't look good. Layered cuts are hard to do right!

Good luck!

Hi! Definitely find a good stylist (one who will talk to you beforehand about exactly what you want), and bring in some pictures. Check the galleries on this site- there are tons of pix of styles. Another good one is Hairdos.com.
Make sure you're as specific as possible about what you want, especially when it comes to the length. If you don't want it too short, then tell the stylist exactly how much you want taken off and hold them to that. If the stylist isn't willing to listen to what you want, don't let them touch your hair. A good stylist will listen.

Good luck to ya!

all sights and sounds I have been told
all hopes, desires, seem to sing

If your hair is straight try a long perm, long curly hair or hair with a body wave can be very attractive!

I had long hair until I cut it about shoulder lenght. When I look back, at pictures of me with long hair, I regret cutting it as short. If I were you, I'd cut my hair to about under my chest, and get chunky layers(I like layers starting from the end of my nose but that's my opinion). You should definately bring a picture showing exactly want you want, as if she made a mistake, your hair takes a long time to grow.

I used to have long hair, but then i cut it to about a little below chest lenght. I got it layered, and it turned out pretty cute, but my hair stylist helped me pick it out, so u should definitely ask atleast a semi-professional hair stylist. good luck!!
