does anyone know different ways to get different curls without a curler becuase i don t have one or how to get the wet curly look like britney or hilary duff
To get the wet curly look, ( my hair is wavy and partially curly and super thick) just as i get out of the shower I brush it and, I let it air dry for a few minutes, (which is best- i never use a blow dryer or the waves and curls'll come out into frizz.) Then, I rub a squirt of gell into the pals of my hands and run my finges through my hair. Its not wise to brush it any time after your hair has dryed- of it'll frizz. If it looks tangled, run some water through your hair and comb it with your fingers.
get those things that wrap round ur hair and leave them in at nite then take them out slowly in the morning and it mite work.

god made coke god made pepsi god made me so damn sexy.
Nice to see someone brought this thread back to life. The Brit pic looks almost exactly like the results I get from damp bunning. I bun my hair when it's damp, making two buns actually, one closer to the top of the head and one below. (divide the hair into a north and south hemisphere) Let it dry in the bun for 8-12 hours (I usually damp bun at night and sleep on my side). This works for hair that is naturally straight, and the hair should have mounds of curls after the bun is completely dry.
This is a heat free, hair-safe, healthy way to curl. No cortexes explode and no cuticles are harmed during this process.
hmm damp bunning i mite try that...should i put any products in it prior /after the process, and whts rag curling?? soo the 2 buns are one on top and one towards the nape of your neck rite??
I don't know much about rag curling because I don't use it myself, but many others have. Valentine has written an article on rag curling: (I hope this link works. If it doesn't, just copy and paste) http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip049.htm
Nope, I don't put anything in my hair beforehand. You could put in products for curl hold afterwards, but it's not necessary. As long as you don't use a brush or comb (use fingers only) to not break up the curl pattern.
Basically, looking at the head sideways, I'd be centering the first bun at 2 o'clock and the other at 4 o'clock. Does that make sense?
I have experimented with curling irons, rag curls, damp bunning, and rollers. My favorite method is rollers.
Damp bunning generally just does a cute wave. Rag curls are gentle and very easy for beginners, but you can't control the size of the curls as well.
Curling irons are damaging to your hair, but if you must try that, remember heat protectant.
I recommend the Caruso Steam Rollers. You can get them from Sally's for about 29.99. They work great with my hair, and you get a 30 day warranty in case they do not work well with your hair.
You can roll your hair up up in them, and after about 15 minutes, you can take the rollers out. The curls will generally be very neat and controlled, so if you want a "wild" style like Brittney Spears, just tease the curls a little bit with your fingers. I don't use hair spray because the steam rollers will leave my curls very strong, and I have little need to. The curls will weigh down eventually, but it has never gone to wavy or straight for me. =P
Hm.. you're right, AI. It really depends on the hair type whether damp bunning results in curls or waves... but I've seen a finehaired blonde pull it off beautifully as well.
