OMG yes! Technically, you can't make hair grow faster, but you CAN keep the growth from breaking off. Some hair vitamins like MSM and Biotin also give people better growth results. Their hair grows stronger.

Here's my growth philosophy:

(1) Cut off all the damage: search and cut off all splits and breaks.

(2) No heat tools: that includes blow-frying, curling, and flat-ironing (no steamrolling). They cause dryness, which leads to splits, which require trims. And too much trimming, as we all know, gets rid of growth.
Even better, don't even use hot/warm water on your hair. Keep your hair dry while you shower, then afterwards shampoo and condition with cold water under the bathtub faucet before getting out.

(2) No chemicals or dyes. No perms. No relaxers. You get the idea.

(3) Use hair friendly accessories. Use hairsticks, scrunchies, polished and smooth pelican clips,... the like. Make sure all hair accessories are smooth and do not break/snag hair. Absolutely no rubber bands, no thin hair ties (thin= less than about 1/2 inch wide)

(4) Wear your hair contained a lot of the time... buns or braids, updos, twists, etc.. It will help protect the hair from friction.

More:
-- Do not brush wet hair. Use a seamless comb
-- Condition after every hairwash.
-- Trim about every three months, and get rid of a tiny amount (about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch)

There's more, but they're iterations of the above. The bottom line is be gentle and treat your hair like an antique lace tablecloth. Do your hair research.. There's lots of good growth advice everywhere. Ask grandmas and aunties about what they did when they were younger. And most importantly, eat right and take your vitamins. Drink enough water.

Happy growing : )

Do buy the book... I write all over mine. Actually, read a chapter or so while you're still in the store... That will get you sufficiently hooked.

It's an artsy philosophical drama kind of novel, with normal people and typical struggles. Don't let the book summaries fool you though because they don't summarize enough. There is so much to learn from that book, mostly learned after the 2nd or 3rd reading. A first reading is never enough.

The ULB is kind of on the French side though, if you know what I mean... it's rated R. They did make a movie out of it, but I recommend reading the book first.
