Okay, there may be opposing opinions on this one, but the theory is that gelatin (being a protein) will help hair and nail growth (also being protein). But see, the body uses protein in some major functions -- such as building muscle and other stuff -- and hair and nail production is last on it's priority list... and we ought to be thankful here. However, I have had one expert say that the vitamins and minerals found in vitamins formulated specifically for hair, are NOT those that the body will tend to reroute to other critical functions - so the hair will end up getting more of these. If your hair isn't growing fast enough, perhaps there are some preventive measures you could take to reduce breakage -- avoid harse brushing, hot rollers, blow drying, etc.Da Augs

Yep...exactly what I have heard Augs...However....I have not found the gelatin to work for me personally.....on my hair. And I slugged down a lot of that nasty Knox gelatin junk. UGH. It did help my nails grow which is nearly impossible since my hands are glued to my keyboard and breaking all the time. I definitely have noticed more results for my hair growth with kelp and seaweed.Once again....you have to try it and see if it works for you.Karen> Okay, there may be opposing opinions on this> one, but the theory is that gelatin (being a protein)> will help hair and nail growth (also being protein).> But see, the body uses protein in some major functions> -- such as building muscle and other stuff --> and hair and nail production is last on it's priority> list... and we ought to be thankful here.> However, I have had one expert say that the> vitamins and minerals found in vitamins formulated> specifically for hair, are NOT those that the> body will tend to reroute to other critical functions> - so the hair will end up getting more of these.>> If your hair isn't growing fast enough, perhaps> there are some preventive measures you could take> to reduce breakage -- avoid harse brushing, hot> rollers, blow drying, etc.> Da Augs
