I saw a listing for two books this weekend that may interest you, Karen. Both are from Amazon Drygoods, 2218 E. 11th St. Davenport, IA 52803 phone 319-322-6800.The first is "Victorian Fashions and Costumes from Harper's Bazaar 1867 - 1898', by Stella Blum, 320pp, $13.95. While primarily focusing on fashion, it is described as "the only book still in print what details how to set, comb, and arrange hair in many styles, some with added hairpieces." I have no idea how much info or detail it contains, but thought I'd pass it on.A second book is "The Art of Hair Work" by Campbell, 208pp, $22.95. It deals with the Victorian art of creating jewelry from hair, a Victorian fashion in the mid-1800's, "jewelry of sentiment", as they called it. The books contains instructions, patterns, info on tools, techniques, etc.My catalog is from 1994, but I assume both may still be available. The catalog is primarily Victoriana of all sorts, but I thought these two might interest you.

That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)
