Do you have any suggestions on brands of hair color (either salon coloring or home coloring)? I've tried SEVERAL different types of home and salon coloring. While initially the color looks good, after about three weeks, my hair starts turning a funky red-orange color. At this point, I'm willing to try just about anything short of a total bleach job.
Believe me there is a fine line between the two. From my experience with it, the semi-permanent just fades a bit but sticks. And mine turned very brassy where it had adhered to the gray. I am very sorry I messed with hair color because now I am in the process of letting it grow out. I thought the semi permanent would wash out in the 12-24 shampoo's..NOT. Anything with peroxide will adhere to your hair. I have never dyed my hair before so I am not familiar with those personally but my daughter has dyed her hair red a few times. From watching what her hair does, I see it fades much slower but it still fades..but holds its color better of course. I think the semi stuff stinks to put it bluntly. Semi is just a lighter version of dye. And dye is of course the most permanent you can get. I am staying away from all of it for now on.. it wasn't a pleasant experience at all and one I wished I had never tried out. Cher~> The differences between semi and permanent> hair color confuse me. Is a product like Clairol's Loving Care considered to be a semi-permanent hair color? I wonder if Jane Seymour really uses it to cover her gray? She has such wonderful hair, but I would imagine she does something to cover gray. By the way, I am bummed out that Dr. Quinn got cancelled.> Believe me there is a fine line between the> two. Hey!I, too, find that most of the semi-permenant colors leave my hair an odd color. A few months ago, I tried a product called Effects of Nature that I read about on Robert Craig's page. It is a non-peroxide PERMANENT hair color that comes in powder form. You mix it with warm water and apply it. I LOVED it. I placed another order a couple of months ago, but never received it. I tried to e-mail Advantage Cosmetics (the maker of EON), but the messages came back as undeliverable. Robert Craig's web page isn't up and running anymore, so I'm at a loss. I REALLY liked this product and am very disappointed not to be able to get it any longer.>> Clairol's Loving Care is a semi-permenant.>> JM
