I am a young mother of two with another one on the way. I am looking for a new style that will compliment my lifestyle. Easy, yet glamorous. Right now my hair is long, one length (mid-back) fairly straight with body and some wave. I have gotten tired of my hair and most days I wear it in a braid or ponytail. I need a new do! I don't want the typical "mother cut". I'm looking for something not so drastic. I would entertain going shorter, to the shoulder or a little shorter, but I want it long enought that if I don't have time to do it I could easily put it up. I have an oval shaped face with a square jaw line. People say that when my hair is in a pony tail I look like a teenager, and I'm afraid that if I go with bangs I'll obtain the same young look. I'm not yet thirty but I want a sofisticate yet fun look. Please help me find the perfect style!
Hi Sandra,So people say you look 'like a teenager', so what do you care what other people think? If it feels comfortable and you like the way you look.........go for it! One of the most popular topics here is going against convention.
Hi Sandra,It sounds like you very nice looking hair with the potential for a lot of styling options. If you are tired of the way your hair looks, then I suggest you have your hair cut in a "U" shape, either blunt or with long layers. This cut gives you the length to put it up, braid it, or ponytail it and provides you with shorter lengths on the side to curl, leave out as tendrils, or to frame your face. I think you should also experiment with different hair ornaments to add variety to your options in styling your long hair. If you tired of your hair (shampooing, weight, length), then I suggest you consider a cut to your shoulders that will allow you to ponytail or put your hair up. Since your hair is wavy at its current length, the shorter cut may bring out more natural wave, allowing you minimum styling time while giving you a great look. I suggest a blunt cut at this length, perhaps a little longer in back and shorter on the sides. This cut would be described more as a page boy or flip, not a bob. I encourage you to try some things out with your hair at its present length before you cut a lot of length. You can go shorter in stages if you find that works best for you. Whatever you do, good luck, and congratulations on the baby on the way.John R> I am a young mother of two with another one> on the way.
