My favorite hair colour is red. But, everytime I dye my hair red, the redness comes out really fast, and the rest of the colour stays in for as long as it should. Does anyone know of any special tricks, or brands of hair dye that are best?Love, Molly
Molly--Wow, I'm posting a lot this morning!Red is the hardest color to retain, because the molecule in red dye is very large. I keep my red red by...1. Using a matching semipermanent color gloss over the permanent color.2. Using ARTec color-enhancing products in Cherry Bark.3. Washing with cool water and protecting my hair from the sun.Every five to six weeks, I do the roots and run the color through the length of my hair 10 minutes before rinsing. (Gives it a boost.)Good luck!AllyWho had to go red after she saw "Titanic"

Also what kind/brand of dye are you using?-jennifer j

Also what kind/brand> of dye are you using?I've tried doing both...but, usually I go for a deep mahogany kind of thing. And, I've tried almost every brand of dye. I used to do more semi-permanents, but, lately I've just been using permanents (but the red still comes out.)Love, Molly
