oily scalp, dry ends

I'm sorry if this is posted twice, I was having problems :)Anyway, two problems:1. I really want to grow my hair out, but my ends are very dry and split. Will a hot oil treatment make my scalp even oiler (I have to wash my hair every day!)2. My mother trained my hair to part down the center from the time I was born until I was 12 (this is a huge part from the back of my head to my forehead) How can I retrain my hair to not have a part at all? Or at least an unnoticeable part (my hair is very dark brown, so it shows up really well)tialarene
