i have extemely thick wavy hair which lays a couple of inches below my shoulders, and it can appear very big at times. Also, sometimes the front is weighed down and so appears straight, while the rest of the hair is curly. I was wondering if there was a particular hair-cut that would be good for my hair--make it appear less big, accentuate the curls. Also, are there any suggestions for hair products that would be good for my type of hair and reduce frizz, etc.

I don't have advice on hair-cuts, but feel you should know try not to layer them, no matter what the stylist says about removing weight from your ends or such. I have wavy thick hair too and am suffering from hair which grows outwards instead of downwards due to those layers. Layering will only enhance the curl on wavy hair (if that is what you want, go ahead). It is a nightmare for me! I have been extremely tempted to chop it all off on several occasions.

By using an inverted French braid and the regular French braid in different ways you can be creative and control your thick bushy locks until you get a little more length on them, which should help your 'wild hair' problems. Also, use a little spray gel or pomade when braiding your hair will 'slick up' the appearence of your finished style, and if braided when damp, will provide long lasting curls and waves when taken down to wear for the next day or so. The 'front side hair' which you spoke of that tends to be straight, hold out of including into the braid until you are almost down to 'ear' level, then pull straight across the top half of your ears and work into the braid as you go, comb through this section very flat before including it for a much more finished look. william
