My boyfriend is doing a photo shoot of me, something we've done many times, but this time wants to do a "transformation" theme where I start out looking one way and then each picture I kind of metamorphosize a little. The idea is that I start out looking like the stereotype frumpy librarian, and end up looking like a centerfold model. So each picture is going to be a subtle change, and I need hair ideas. I have long waist lenght, slightly wavy hair. I'm thinking of starting with it in a harsh bun, but need ideas on what to end up with and how to do it subtly. I can't have straight hair in one picture and suddenly end up with tons of curls in the next. Maybe the hair could start out extreme and work our ways backwards, but that would be a pain with the makeup because it's easier to add more than to keep washing it off and working backwards. And even then I need ideas on what extreme is.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Since you said you'd be addingmakeup as you go along, it sounds like this is going tobe a series of prepared still pictures, rather than"action shots" where the model moves and the photographerclicks 24 times in eight seconds. You could act like you're shaking the bun loose. For this you could make your bun in two or maybe threeseparate sections: take the crown and top of the sidesand make a bun, then take a lower section and wrap thataround the first bun, then take the rest of your hairand wrap that around until it's all bunned up.Then release one section each picture until all of yourhair is loose. Is this making sense?Once it's down you could curl it one section at a timein the same manner. Maybe in reverse; after the bun isdown there would be one picture of it straight, thenwith the back curled, then with the sides curled, thenwith the crown curled. Gee, now I'm confusing myself. How about get an electric fan and mount it at head leveljust outside of camera range? That's what the pros dofor the action shots to maximize the free flowing hair.It should work with stills.Make sure to increase your facial expression each shot, whether it's a smile, a beckoning, or whatever.Sounds like I'd love to be the cameraman for this...You and your boyfriend should be congratulated for youringenuity.---C.C.
