I used Feria light golden brown at first and then I used the medium golden brown. I was thinking about going back to the lighter shade, but I can see that's not a good idea from the bad experience of an earlier posted message. This is tricky business! Feria colors do fade fast, but I like that because the line of demarcation is not as noticable on my hair. I had great results with Feria and I am not brave enough to try another brand. I like the multi-tone effect of Feria. But I keep reading that coloring over and over is taboo, so what can a girl do when those nasty roots show? And is it safe to use a semi-permanent color over permanent color and visa versa? Also, how could I go back to using the light golden brown shade?Thank you for your time in answering,Juna

You can use a semi perm color on the ends over thepermanent color. It is actually safer to do it that way,you will avoid peroxide burn which causes damage. Get asemi perm color that matches as closely as you can, butnot too dark. If you feel that the ends have gotten toored or orange, then mix a little ash into your bottle tocool some of the orange or red. hope this helps...

I ended up with blonde roots and brown hair. I'm happy to report that my roots are just about the same shade as the rest of my hair now - thanks for all your help - and my hair still seems healthy. My question is about maintaining it now. I want to continue touching up my roots with Feria Light Golden Brown, but I had someone tell me to use a semi permanent haircolor over the rest of my hair. I don't really understand how to go about doing that. I will need to color my roots with Feria about every 4 or 5 weeks. When I touch up with the Feria, should I comb the color through for the last 10 minutes or apply only to my roots? How often should I use the semi permanent color? Should I apply the semipermanent color to all of my hair? Does it hurt to use the semipermenant color right after I use the Feria, or should I wait a couple of weeks? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I don't end up in another mess. And I've decided that the next time I want to change my haircolor, I will save up my money and see a professional! Thanks for all your help!
