Hi,I was given a tip at an Aveda Salon last week that I am going to try and I thought might be worth sharing. I was told that Aveda Active composition, diluted in water so that you can smell it pretty well (nothing really scientific here), and dispensed from a spray bottle makes a good all purpose cleaner that is chemical free and environmentally sound. Sounds good to me.Regards,Clare
Hi. Aveda makes a really good all purpose cleaner. The Active-n-water makes a really good air cleaner and plants even seem to love it. Great for getting smoke out of the car. I would'nt however trust it to do much for cleaning as it is just water with a some essence. Aveda does claim that there is some bacteria fighting effects of the essence ie. literally cleaning the air. Here's something you may find interesting about active composition: It is great for dissolving things like adhesive, tar, and grease. It's like an oil solvent and can break down petroleum polymers ie. melt a styrophoam cup and get hairspray buildup off your hair. So, if you peel a sticker off your window and can't get the gunk off, just work a little active into it then after it is softened it scrapes off easily and completely with a knife. It works better than anything I know for getting rid of the waxy build up of sebhorrea on the hair.
