Does anybody have any feedback on ClairolsKaleidocolors? I've recently started working withthem and have noticed they rarely lift past theyellow/orange stage. Also, any advice onhighlighting with color vs. bleach would be muchappreciated. Thanks
I have alot of success with Kaliedacolors getting past yellow, but I only use the blue one. It neads heat if you did'nt already know that. I don't know what kind of advice you might need re: highlighting w/color, maybe this might be helpful: If I am doing a multi color foil I often opt for high lift color so that it does'tn process too fast for the color that neads to develope fully. I only do this on hair that does'nt require more than 5 levels of lift.Related Link:Pony Tails

Thanksjulie,my wife and I use them to do her highlights/roots and have had good luck.We did not have as many levels to lift as perhaps you do.I have some questions on the subject maybe you can shed some light on.My wife wants me to go blonde but I'm not so sure.If use the clairol mixture and do not like my color can I use a permanent color such as Nice-n-Easy and how many shades from my natural color?(currently 116 natural light brown). My wifes friend wants me to do her bleach but the problem isshe has a overall light blonde growing out to her natural color.(growing back 2-3 shades darker) and its about 30%dark,70%light.Can I safely rebleach the lighter hair without damaging it or how can I retouch the roots when the are about 4-5 inches in length. Her hair sees to be in good condition and I have been giving her deep conditioning treatments to assure health of hair. thanks for advice
I never noticed a recommended time. I guess I'm too used to testing it. I had a client, for example, that had very hard to lift hair and she liked to maintain it utterly platinum. If there was even an inkling of gold she would be freeked. I tried so many types of bleach and high lift blonde color was out of the question. We found, together, that Kaliedocolor worked the absolute best and with no scalp irritaiton. Even though it claims to be an off the scalp bleach only, honey, we were bleaching that scalp!!! and every month for years. I had to process her under the dryer for 30 min!!! and if I took it off too soon, we would always end up with a little yellow and she is a perfectionist. Learned my lesson with her too many times so resigned myself to leaving it on under dryer for 30 min. Moral of the story is: How effective it is depends on how long you process. You will just have to test it wich if you don't have experience might be hard at first because the blue makes it hard to tell. You must rub some of the bleach off good with a wet towel and see if you see yellow. Like I said before, I bleached her roots this way for many years and had no adverse effects. FYI I always toned her bleached hair with Logics Attitudes or Imprints in a 10V. Made that bleached hair a nice soft platinum color. Hope this helps, PaulaRelated Link:Pony Tails

If her roots are only 2-3 shades lighter than her ends why dont you use color? If she wants to be lighter than her ends, I would use bleach on the regrowth and pull it through the last few minutes to remove any toner on her ends. She'll proably need a toner to even the whole thing out afer. Good luck
