Is there something I missed? Most people say they chemically straightened their hair, but that they blow dry it straight afterwards. Do you HAVE to blow dry it straight afterwards? I thought that it was already straight. Are they not promoting more damage just to get a smoother straighter look even though their hair is and has been chemically straightened? I'm lost. I haven't chemically straightened my hair or anything like that, I was just confused by the people saying this.
Hi there!Ah Hah! This is the little myth surrounding the new 'gentle' relaxers such as Paul Maitchel the Relaxer, Rusk Radical Anti Curl, the KMS Flat Out Relaxer (not the balm, but the actual relaxer), and the Paul Brown Hair at Rest. I have personally used three of the above relaxers for a period of three years, until I realized that I was doing just as much work afterwards to get my hair straight. These new relaxers DO NOT make your hair POKER staright, they just reduce the curl/wave and the frizz. Howwver, you will NEVER achieve a very straight look with these unless you coninue to blow dry. I do not know how the stronger relaxers marketed more towards African Hair work, so I can't speak for them. But as for the new relaxers that are all the rage-- PLEASE keep in mind that you will have to do work! And, by the way, when I went down to San Antonio for the Air Force-- my realxer at the time, DID NOT hold up-- talk about major fuzz head! Hope this helps!Sherry~PS- I was told that these relaxers are used best for removing the last bit of unwanted perm from hair. I only have loosely curled, fine hair-- so you can judge for yourself :)> Is there something I missed?> Most people say they chemically straightened their> hair, but that they blow dry it straight afterwards.> Do you HAVE to blow dry it straight afterwards?
